Unsuspecting Duke basketball star to participate in 2021 Dunk Contest
An unsuspecting Duke basketball guard will be participating in the 2021 Slam Dunk Contest.
A former Duke basketball player will be participating in the 2021 NBA Slam Dunk Contest, but it’s not the one you are thinking of.
Cameron Indoor Stadium has been the home to some high-flyers in recent years, most notably Zion Williamson, but the former National Player of the Year is still mulling his decision on the dunk contest. However, his Duke dunk king successor, Cassius Stanley, has made up his mind.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Sunday evening that the rookie, along with Portland Trail Blazers guard Anfernee Simons, will join New York Knicks rookie Obi Toppin as confirmed participants in the dunk contest.

Because of COVID-19 restrictions and safety precautions, the 2021 Dunk Contest will take place at halftime of the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday, March 14.
Cassius Stanley hasn’t spent much time in the NBA this season, playing eight games for the Indiana Pacers before getting sent to the NBA G-League Bubble.
The second-round pick in the 2020 Draft has played a total of 24 minutes in the NBA with nine points and seven fouls.
Stanley has made only two field goals, one as a three-pointer, and four of his nine points have come at the free throw line.
Duke basketball high-riser ready for his big moment
Following the premature ending to the 2019-20 season, the Duke basketball social media team put together the Top-10 dunks of Cassius Stanley, and some of these in-game slams would definitely win the dunk contest.
College basketball fans from last season now get the answer to who would have won a dunk contest, Cassius Stanley or Obi Toppin.
