Utah Jazz: 20-5, No. 1 in Western Conference

Stating case: The squad has the best record in the league but sits only 0.5 games ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers (20-6). That said, the Lakers do not directly affect the All-Star chances of seventh-year Utah Jazz head coach Quin Snyder since their head coach, Frank Vogel, is ineligible for the honor after coaching Team LeBron last season.

Therefore, with only five Utah games left before All-Star coaches are decided, the main threat to Snyder is Tyronn Lue of the Los Angeles Clippers (18-8), who trail by 2.5 games yet are set to host the Jazz twice next week.

Given that Utah has won 16 of its last 17 outings, though, it sure seems like a fairly safe bet at this point that the extremely intelligent 54-year-old will soon become the first former Duke basketball player to ever serve as an NBA All-Star head coach.

All-Star probability for Quin Snyder: 80 percent
