By Matt Giles
4. Duke basketball senior guard Jordan Goldwire
GAME AVERAGES: 29.9 minutes, 7.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 2.4 steals, 0.1 blocks, 1.4 turnovers, 2.7 fouls
SHOOTING PERCENTAGES: 42.5 percent from the field, 34.6 from beyond the arc, 75.0 percent from the foul line
SEASON-HIGH STATS: 38 minutes vs. Wake Forest on Jan. 9, 14 points vs. Wake Forest, five rebounds (four times), seven assists vs. Georgia Tech on Jan. 26, four steals (twice), one block vs. Coppin State on Nov. 28, three turnovers (twice), five fouls vs. Illinois on Dec. 8
OVERALL ASSESSMENT: Defensively, Jordan Goldwire is among the best in the ACC. On the other end of the floor, though, he struggles to create his own shot, which is far from a thing of beauty anyway. Yet the numbers say he protects the ball and isn’t the worst Blue Devil to find for a wide-open three. Plus, he’s not the worst to have at the line. Also, at times, his energy has saved Duke.
CURRENT GRADE: 85 (B)
