Duke basketball’s honor roll for Week 3 of ACC play

Matthew Hurt – Double-Double Day

Matthew Hurt remained Duke’s most consistent player in Week 3 of ACC play after putting up his third double-double of the season. The sophomore forward put up 20 points and 11 rebounds against Virginia Tech, to continue as the ACC’s leader in scoring while being third in rebounds.

He put up four of the team’s eight threes, shooting 50.0 percent from behind the arc and from the floor in general. Hurt’s consistent efforts come as a surprise to some, but as a promising factor going into the rest of the conference slate as well as Duke’s overall future.

Jeremy Roach – Career Game

Jeremy Roach put up 22 points against the Hokies, notching both game-high and career-high numbers. Now averaging 11.1 points per game, the freshman point guard has only shown improvement, serving as a beacon of hope to Duke basketball fans around the nation.
