Overall Duke basketball team grade for Week 2 of ACC play: A-

Despite the many levels of adversity the Duke basketball players have faced the past few weeks, they returned to their second week of conference play stronger than ever.

Before this week’s slate of home games, the Blue Devils had played only three games in the previous five weeks. On top of that, 73-year-old head coach Mike Krzyzewski was benched following a possible instance of COVID-19 contact, leaving 33-year-old associate head coach Jon Scheyer to take over.

Nevertheless, Krzyzewski found a way to work with his guys virtually through screens to get through a tough Boston College team. When it came time for Coach K to return to the sideline against Wake Forest, the final score resulted in the only way it could — a win.

The efforts of Duke’s entire coaching staff, along with fantastic second-half efforts from the team in each game, helped the Blue Devils advance to 5-2 (3-0 ACC) on the season.
