Takeaway No. 2 in Duke basketball loss: Wendell Moore is seriously slumping
Duke fans know just how good Wendell Moore is. The 6-foot-5 forward had a decent freshman season. He showed glimpses of his potential with a career-high 25 points against Wake Forest last season.
However, Moore’s start to the 2020-21 season has been nothing to brag about. He is currently shooting 23.3 percent from the field, which is much lower than his 41.6 percent last season.
Discipline when it comes to shot selection has been a factor in this poor start from Moore. Expect head coach Mike Krzyzewski to figure out a way to utilize Moore to the best of his abilities. In order for the Blue Devils to make a deep run in the tournament, they can’t have Wendell Moore taking contested 18-foot jump shots off the dribble.
If Moore continues his dire play on the court, then he is sure to see his minutes slotted to players like Joey Baker and Jaemyn Brakefield…
