There’s been another small change to the upcoming Duke basketball schedule.

The 41st Duke basketball squad under Mike Krzyzewski, which currently sits with a 2-1 overall record and dropped from No. 6 to No. 10 in this week’s AP Top 25 Poll following a loss at home to Michigan State last week, hosts No. 6 Illinois at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday (ESPN) in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge.

Then the next game for the Blue Devils, against Charleston Southern, will again take place in the friendly confines of Cameron Indoor Stadium.

That much hasn’t changed.

However, Duke did announce this week that the scheduled time for the matchup on Saturday versus Charleston Southern, which was originally on tap for 8:30 p.m., has changed to a 2:00 p.m. tip time. Neither school has noted a reason for the slight alteration, but the contest will still air on ACC Network Extra.

Charleston Southern might be Duke basketball’s weakest opponent this season

The Buccaneers, who are members of the Big South Conference and are coming off a lackluster 14-18 campaign in 2019-20, are off to an ugly 0-3 start to the 2020-21 season. They have suffered a 34-point loss on the road against North Carolina State, a 10-point loss in Raleigh to Eastern Kentucky, and then a seven-point loss at home to North Carolina A&T one week ago.

Like Duke, Charleston Southern will also first be in action on Tuesday night, albeit against significantly easier competition, as the team is set to play at 7 p.m. from inside Buccaneer Fieldhouse against Carver College, a member of the National Christian College Athletic Association.

Saturday will mark the first meeting ever between the Blue Devils and Buccaneers, who have reached the NCAA Tournament only once in program history (1997).
