The Duke football team suffered another blowout loss on Saturday night in Durham.

It was another game and another blowout for the Duke football team as the season is close to mercifully ending.

Following a schedule change where the No. 10 Miami Hurricanes (8-1) came to Durham, the Blue Devils (2-8) were pounded into the turf on Saturday night, suffering a 48-0 loss.

David Cutcliffe‘s team did not do one thing well in its latest lopsided loss, as Chase Brice completed 20-of-25 passes for 94 yards. That’s 3.8 yards per completion, nearly an impossible feat for a team with an offensive-minded head coach.

As a team, the Blue Devils rushed 33 times for 56 yards. That’s 1.7 yards per carry. Also nearly an impossible feat for an offensively structured team.

One positive for Duke was that Chase Brice did not throw an interception, but the Blue Devils turned the football over five times, including one fumble by Brice and an interception by back-up quarterback Gunnar Holmberg.

Miami quarterback D’Eriq King had a field day with 248 passing yards, 46 rushing yards, three passing touchdowns, and a rushing touchdown.

The ‘Canes also ran for 220 yards in their victory and three touchdowns, as a squad.

Only one more game left in the Duke football season

As many people were happy a 2020 college football season was able to take place, thankfully there is only one game left in the Duke campaign.

The Blue Devils will travel to Tallahassee, Florida to face the Florida State Seminoles, a team that has not played since November 14, on Saturday afternoon.

Perhaps another 40- or 50-point game awaits Duke as the Blue Devils have allowed 56, 56, and 48 points in their last three games.

Duke was slated to play the Seminoles last Saturday, but the game had to be postponed, with Miami (FL) as a substitute, since Florida State was dealing with COVID-19 issues.

Kickoff is at 4:00pm EST (ACC Network) on Saturday, December 12
