Prediction for Duke basketball vs. Illinois

Tuesday night has the makings for a low-scoring defensive battle inside Cameron Indoor Stadium, and Duke will certainly miss the Cameron Crazies for this Top-10 matchup, as they did against Michigan State.

The game is going to come down to how well Duke is able to defend Ayo Dosunmu and Kofi Cockburn because Illinois is not successful without those two players being stars.

Mike Krzyzewski knows his team did not play well against a veteran Michigan State squad, and he won’t let that happen again against Illinois.

Look for Duke to set the tone with its defense early, and some timely shots in the second half will propel the Blue Devils to their biggest win of the young season.

PREDICTION: Duke 68, Illinois 61
