Duke basketball Key to Victory No. 4 – DJ Steward has to shoot effectively

After an opening night barrage of buckets and 3-pointers, DJ Steward has cooled off tremendously from the field.

Steward was 0-for-7 from the floor, missing all three of his 3-pointers against Michigan State, and he was only 2-of-7 from the field against Bellarmine, also missing all three of his 3-point shots.

However, the poster dunk the freshman threw down late in the second half wiped away any talk of another poor shooting performance.

If the Chicago native is able to shoot well, it will open up more driving lanes against the Illinois defense and potentially allow for more fouls against Kofi Cockburn, getting the Illini’s big man out of the game.
