Duke basketball Key to Victory No. 1 – Jordan Goldwire must play like a Defensive Player of the Year Candidate

Ayo Dosunmu, who is an All-Big Ten First Team selection and a Preseason All-American, will enter Cameron Indoor Stadium as perhaps the most talented guard the Blue Devils will play this season.

Dosunmu averaged 16.6 points per game as a sophomore, and that number has already jumped to 23.8 points per game as a junior.

The Chicago star is also averaging 7.3 rebounds, 6.3 assists, and 1.0 steals per game while shooting 50.0 percent from the field and 47.1 percent from 3-point range.

Jordan Goldwire enters Tuesday’s matchup as Duke’s best perimeter defender by far, and he has a chance to jump into the conversation as one of the best on-ball defenders in the country if he’s able to slow Ayo Dosunmu.

Goldwire won’t be relied upon for much on the offensive end for the Blue Devils, but it will be his defense determining if Duke can pull out the victory.
