Duke basketball players who hurt their stocks vs. Bellarmine

Wendell Moore

It was another poor offensive performance from Wendell Moore as he was only able to add two points to Duke’s winning cause on 1-of-7 shooting from the field, missing his only 3-point and free throw attempts.

Despite his shooting struggles, Moore was better defensively with two rebounds, two assists, and a steal.

Through three games in his sophomore season, Wendell Moore is shooting 7-for-27 from the field, and his struggles have appeared to get in his head.

The North Carolina native needs to see some shots go through the net to get his confidence back and regain the form that Mike Krzyzewski needs from one of his returning pieces from a season ago.

Jalen Johnson

For the first time this season, Jalen Johnson finds himself on the ‘Stock Down’ column.

The heralded freshman found himself in foul trouble once again, only playing two and a half minutes in the first half because of two early fouls.

Johnson also had fouling issues against Michigan State, and when the star had to go to the bench, the tide turned in favor of the Spartans as Duke was never able to recover.

The Wisconsin native was still able to finish with nine points, three rebounds, and a steal on 4-of-6 shooting against Bellarmine but only played 15 minutes,

Duke will desperately need Jalen Johnson on the floor going forward and must rely on its star freshman to stay out of foul trouble as the season continues.

Jeremy Roach

After seeing himself in the starting lineup against Michigan State, Jeremy Roach came off the bench against Bellarmine and struggled to find his footing once again.

Roach scored four points with two assists and a steal on 1-of-4 shooting in 15 minutes.

The freshman point guard also missed all three of his 3-point field goals with two turnovers in the victory.

An adjustment period for Roach may be bigger than most thought, but his offensive pedigree is too strong to overlook, and his defense should improve in a backcourt learning from Jordan Goldwire.
