Duke basketball Key No. 3 – Instill confidence in the veterans

Tuesday night was tough on Wendell Moore.

The sophomore forward could not get anything going on offense or defense, only scoring his six points at the free throw line.

Moore has to get back to his roots of playing lockdown defense and attacking the basket, something he did not do against Michigan State, where he settled for far too many outside shots.

The same can be said for junior forward Joey Baker, who has yet to score this season.

Baker always brings energy to the floor, but as a shooter, he needs to see one go through the net, and this could be the game that happens.

Matthew Hurt and Jordan Goldwire have been solid for the Blue Devils this season, but getting consistent production from Wendell Moore and Joey Baker would be a major boost for Duke.
