Final thoughts on the Duke basketball loss to Michigan State

Overall, it was not a terrible game for Duke. The Blue Devils did a little better job taking care of the basketball, as they had 12 turnovers, which is a big improvement from the 22 they had in their opener.

Duke competed hard and did some good things defensively. As the season goes on, the Blue Devils will get more comfortable playing with each other on offense and develop more chemistry. The shots will start to fall at some point, and it is unlikely that Wendell Moore and DJ Steward will both play this poorly again on the same night.

Ultimately, I believe that Duke will learn from this experience and be better because of it. It is the first time that many of the players played against an elite team.

Sometimes, an early-season loss can be a good motivator to show that winning in college basketball is far from easy. Hopefully, the Blue Devils can get it together and play better when they take on Bellarmine on Friday night.
