Duke basketball Key to Victory No. 4: Limit turnovers

As stated multiple times in our postgame reports from the victory over Coppin State, Duke’s 22 turnovers were unacceptable.

If the Blue Devils turn the basketball over more than 20 times on Tuesday night, they stand no chance to defeat Michigan State, unless the Spartans shoot less than 20 percent from the field.

Jalen Johnson led Duke with seven turnovers in his first collegiate game, and point guards Jordan Goldwire and Jeremy Roach both turned the ball over three times.

Against a veteran backcourt, the Blue Devils must value each possession and win the turnover battle to get out in transition and get easy looks at the rim.
