Predicting the final score of the second Duke basketball game this season
Opponent: Coppin State Eagles
Date: Nov. 28
Time: 2 p.m. EST (ACCNX)
Location: Durham, N.C. (Cameron Indoor Stadium)
Coppin State’s record last season: 11-20 (7-9 in MEAC)
Head coach: Juan Dixon (24-72 overall record in four seasons as a head coach, all at Coppin State)
Why Duke will win: Coppin State returns only 41.0 percent of its scoring from a team that finished only seventh in the MEAC. With that in mind, there’s no way former Maryland point guard Juan Dixon will see the same success against the Blue Devils as he did as a Terrapin (his three wins in the then-rivalry included one in Durham over the eventual 2001 champs and all came against Duke teams that ranked among the top three in the country at the time).
Predicted final score: Duke 95, Coppin State 60
Duke’s predicted overall record to date: 2-0 (0-0 ACC)
