Why Duke will win: No, the above 2019-20 North Carolina record is no typo. The Tar Heels found countless ways to lose as they continued to lose confidence, particularly after losing to the Blue Devils in Chapel Hill — in dramatic fashion in overtime of the rivalry’s first matchup of the season. While this annual first meeting between Duke and UNC is historically the most intense, the Heels will be a bit too antsy on this night in their futile quest to exact revenge on the Dukies.
