Ranking Duke basketball’s five best uniforms of all time

No. 4 Duke basketball look of all time: THE BLACK UNIFORMS

The black jerseys (above) are a true classic. Many of Duke’s famous road wins came while wearing them. These uniforms have basically served as the “big road game” uniforms. It seems like that whenever the Blue Devils have a 9 p.m. tipoff time on a weeknight and in a tough road environment against another ranked team, they are always rocking the black jerseys.

It would be cool if Duke switched it up and decided to wear the black uniforms for a home game. I do not think it has ever been done, but when fans eventually return to Cameron, they could do a whole blackout theme and wear the black uniforms to go along with it.

The reason why the classic black jersey is not as high on my list is because of the fact they lack versatility. We only see these uniforms when Duke is playing in a road game. I love the blue lettering, and the white outline complements the uniforms quite nicely. Overall, these are great uniforms, but we just do not see them enough.
