What is the sweetest jersey that the Duke basketball program has ever worn?

The number of Duke basketball getups continues to grow by the year. But there are a handful of all-time looks, both old and new, that clearly stand out from the rest.

So let’s get right to this ranking of the five best, beginning here with a relatively new look that comes in at No. 5 on this list…

No. 5 Duke basketball look of all time: THE GREY UNIFORMS

This is a uniform we saw being worn frequently toward the beginning of last season, but the grey look did not make many appearances later on in the season. It was the first grey version of a Duke jersey that we have seen since the 2011-12 season.

The grey jersey (pictured above) that was debuted in Duke’s first home game last season was made to honor legendary head coach Mike Krzyzewski. The features of this jersey are what made them special.

The grey represented the time Coach K spent as the head coach at Army. The uniform also featured gold stripes, which represented the three gold medals that Coach K won as head coach of USA Basketball. The blue, obviously, represents Duke.

The Blue Devils have played just three games sporting these uniforms. Duke won all three of those games, against Colorado State, Central Arkansas, and California. That’s not the stiffest competition, but given that they boast a perfect record in them, the Blue Devils should certainly bring these back for the 2020-21 season…
