Halloween costume for Duke basketball guard Jeremy Roach…

TYUS JONES (2014-15)

All right, you got me, I love the Jones brothers. Sue me, for I wish there were 20 more of them coming down the pipeline.

Looking past the numbers, the brothers Tre and Tyus brought an attitude to Duke basketball. It was a certain swagger and toughness that is rare to find in guys so young. Tyus Jones brought a banner, and I’m convinced Tre had a great chance to do so before the 2020 NCAA Tournament was canceled.

Freshman Jeremy Roach will need to harness the spirit of Tyus Jones to be his best self in 2020-21. The point guard is built like Tyus and seems to play like him, averaging 19.1 points per game in his senior year of high school.

Roach will most likely be handed the keys to the offense, much like Tyus Jones was from Day 1, and the Blue Devils need him to be as offensively clutch as Jones was from the start. Jones had ice running through his veins during crunch-time, and Duke fans will be looking for Jeremy Roach to have that exact same mindset.
