Evaluating each Duke basketball player’s greatest strength
The greatest strength of Duke basketball freshman forward Jalen Johnson…
ATHLETICISM
While Jalen Johnson has the skill to match his elite-level athleticism, he will certainly be one of the most athletic players in the country the moment he steps on the floor. And he could very well end up as Duke’s best all-around player by the time the season ends.
But right now, it is hard to ignore the athletic prowess that Johnson possesses. Duke’s social media team has been teasing us with some of Johnson’s displays of athleticism in some of the Blue Devils’ early-season practices. In a few of the clips, the 6-foot-9 combo forward has his head around the rim.
Having Zion Williamson and Cassius Stanley in back-to-back years has spoiled Duke basketball fans. They were probably the two most athletic players Duke has ever had. I don’t think Johnson is quite on that level, but he still brings tremendous athleticism to the wing position and should provide us with some spectacular dunks this season.
