Duke football kicker Charlie Ham was named as one of the ACC Players of the Week.

Duke wins a football game and its players are recognized for their efforts. This time, it’s place kicker Charlie Ham, as he was named as one of the ACC Players of the Week.

Ham was 6-for-6 on kicks in the Blue Devils’ 38-24 victory over Syracuse, as the redshirt freshman split his kicks evenly between extra points and field goals.

The Atlanta, Georgia native made field goals of 21, 36, and 45 yards against the Orange as his 36-yard field goal gave Duke a 10-7 lead early in the first half.

Ham then followed things up with a 45-yard field goal that pushed the Blue Devil lead to two possessions early in the third quarter, and his 21-yard attempt gave Duke another two-possession lead where Duke never looked back.

While Charlie Ham was named as an ACC Player of the Week, two Blue Devils could be considered as snubs in running backs Deon Jackson and Mataeo Durant.

Jackson rushed for 169 yards on 30 carries, and Durant took the ball 23 times, running for 163 yards and two touchdowns.

The ACC named North Carolina running back Michael Carter as the Running Back of the Week following his 17 carries for 214 yards and two touchdowns in the Tar Heels’ 56-45 victory over Virginia Tech.
