Former Duke golf standout Adam Long fell short in the final round of the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship.
Adam Long took a two-shot lead into the final round of the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship on Sunday afternoon, but the former Blue Devil stumbled trying to secure his first win of the 2021 season.
Long posted a two-under in Round 1 on Thursday, but the second and third rounds were spectacular with a score of seven- and eight-under, respectively.

However, those nerves of sleeping on the lead going into Sunday hit Long hard after his three-over round.
The shaky start began on the second hole with a bogey, but a bounce-back birdie followed at the fourth hole.
Back-to-back bogeys sunk Adam Long even more at the sixth and seventh holes, and things didn’t get much better at the turn following a bogey on the 10th hole.
Long did try and recover with a birdie at No. 12, but he gave that shot right back with a bogey at No. 13 as he played even-par golf for the remaining five holes and finished the tournament at 14-under par.
Hudson Swafford won the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship by shooting 18-under as Long came in fifth place behind Tyler McCumber, Mackenzie Hughes, and Nate Lashley.
