Duke football defensive end Victor Dimukeje was named as a Co-Player of the Week in the ACC.

There weren’t many positives to take away from the Blue Devils’ loss against Boston College on Saturday afternoon, but the one bright spot was defensive end Victor Dimukeje.

Dimukeje recorded six total tackles, three and a half tackles for loss, and three and a half sacks in the defeat, and it earned him a spot on the ACC Players of the Week.

The lineman also forced a fumble, and the three and a half sacks tied the second-highest single-game sack total in Duke history. However, the Blue Devil defense was not able to bail out the offense in the 26-6 defeat.

Victor Dimukeje shared the honor on the defensive line with Rashad Weaver of the Pittsburgh Panthers.

The sacks were the first of the season for the Baltimore, Maryland native as he posted eight and a half sacks and 41 total tackles in his junior campaign.

Victor Dimukeje also became the first Duke player this season to be named as an ACC Player of the Week as no Blue Devil was presented with the honor for his position following the Week 1 loss in South Bend, Indiana against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
