Former Duke golf standout Kevin Streelman got his 2021 PGA Tour season off to a great start.
Yes, it’s still 2020, but the PGA Tour’s 2021 season is officially underway with the Safeway Open that took place in Napa, California last week.
Former Blue Devil Kevin Streelman was in the field, and his season is off to a great start following a disappointing conclusion to the strange 2020 year.

Streelman did not qualify for the Tour Championship following his putrid showing at the BMW Championship, where he worked himself out of the field last week at East Lake Golf Club, but the time off served the ex-Dukie well on the golf course.
An even-par Round One at the Silverado Resort and Spa North Course certainly didn’t speak volume, but the next three rounds would as Streelman went on to post a score of 18-under over the next three days.
A six-under in Round Two was followed by Kevin Streelman’s best round of the weekend on Saturday with a seven-under in Round Three.
Trying to make a charge up the leaderboard on Sunday, the former Blue Devil shot a five-under on Sunday but was unable to catch the leaders of Stewart Cink and Harry Higgs.

Cink went on to win the first event of the 2021 season at 21-under as Streeelman was T-3 alongside Doc Redman, Brian Stuard, and Chez Reavie.
The stoppage of the 2020 season caused scheduled changes within the 2021 calendar, and that starts with six major championships, two U.S. Open’s and two Masters, and the first U.S. Open will take place this week at Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, New York from Thursday to Sunday.
