A poor third round at the PGA Championship sunk former Duke golf star Kevin Streelman at the PGA Championship this weekend.
It was tough to get a true read of the golf course at TPC Harding Park on Thursday and Friday at the PGA Championship as former Duke standout Kevin Streelman found his way to the middle of the leaderboard.
After making the cut, Streelman was back out on the course with his one-under on Saturday for his third round, and the course got the best of the former Blue Devil with a three-over, 73, on moving day.

Kevin Streelman tried to dig himself out of a hole, which he fell quickly into after a double-bogey on the second hole, with birdies on No. 4 and No. 6. But bogeys on No. 8, No. 14, and No. 16 combined with pars left him at the bottom of the leaderboard entering Sunday.
With no shot at shooting up the leaderboard on Sunday, Streelman was once again in an early tee time, and it was a rocky start following two bogeys on the front nine, but the back nine was much more of an adventure for the PGA Tour veteran.
Streelman only carded one par on his final nine holes, No. 13, but he was quickly back to even par for his round following birdies on No. 10 and No. 11, but a bogey on No. 12 put him back in black numbers.
Following that lone par, three straight birdies on No. 14, No. 15, and No. 16 brought Streelman’s round to two-under, but that hot streak couldn’t be sustained with two bogeys to end the round, which brought the former Dukie to an even-par, 70, and two-over for the PGA Championship.

With only three major championships this season, Streelman will have to wait until the U.S. Open, beginning on September 17, for the next major of the year. He will not play in this week’s Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, North Carolina.
