Duke basketball head coach Mike Krzyzewski has accepted the challenge from Jayson Tatum to raise awareness for voter registration.

In the ‘When We All Vote Challenge’ former Blue Devil Jayson Tatum had to pick five people to challenge and one of those people ended up being Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski.

The company paired up with Shaquille O’Neal and Tatum to create the ‘#MyStartingFive’ Voter Registration Challenge.

In addition to Krzyzewski, Tatum also challenged Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson, actor Michael B. Jordan, the entire Boston Celtics organization, and the Gatorade basketball family.

In a video released on the Duke official Men’s Basketball Twitter page, Krzyzewski gratefully accepted the challenge and instead of challenge five people, he challenged every single player that has played for him at Duke.

Duke’s Twitter account also started to notify its former players of the challenge by sending them tweets.

The general election in the United States of America is on November 3 and the NCAA has designated the date as an off day so student-athletes would be able to make an impact on the future of the country.

When a person is challenged, they clearly have the decision to accept or deny the challenge but if they accept, they also must challenge five people to raise awareness for voter registration.

Student-athletes in Durham are just returning to Duke amid the coronavirus pandemic as the men’s and women’s basketball players arrived on campus on August 2.

While many of the fall schedules are either not yet released or subject to change because of the pandemic, the men’s basketball team is slated to get its 2020-21 season started in Chicago against the Michigan State Spartans in the State Farm Champions Classic.

Knowing the tight-knit bond that The Brotherhood has, expect several members of former Duke players to accept Mike Krzyzewski’s challenge and for the ‘When We All Vote Challenge’ to continue to spread throughout the basketball community.
