Talk about an NBA career that looks to be heating up. Not only has 2017-18 Duke basketball one-and-done Gary Trent Jr. averaged 7.7 points while knocking down 38.8 percent of his 3-point attempts for the Portland Trail Blazers this season — a far cry from his 2.7 points and 23.8 percent clip from deep as a rookie — but the 6-foot-5, 210-pound guard is in line for a minutes increase in Orlando seeing that veteran wing Trevor Ariza opted out of the trip.
