Duke basketball: Sizing up the 10 finalists for five-star big man
By Matt Giles
Ranking the top 10 for Duke basketball target Charles Bediako: Alabama
Eric Bossi of Rivals is one of many who have reported that the Alabama staff is sitting in an ideal position to snag Charles Bediako after putting in arguably the most work of all his pursuers:
“Nate Oats and his program have ample playing time available…they’ve done a great job of surrounding Bediako’s recruitment and covering all their bases with him.”
Also, as Bossi noted, the Crimson Tide might just have the inside track for a Bediako commitment after already attracting a couple of his former teammates:
“Recruiting is on the rise in Tuscaloosa, and they’d really like a primetime big man to feature like Bediako. They landed Keon Ambrose-Hylton and Josh Primo from his UPlay summer program during the 2020 recruiting cycle…the slightest of favorites to win out again in 2021.”
Finally, Ian Mumm of Busting Brackets detailed what might be the icing on the cake for Bediako when contemplating Alabama:
“Bediako won’t have to worry about a lack of offensive opportunities, due to the attention of defenses on perimeter talent, but also because the Tide’s up-tempo style affords extra possessions…The looks he will receive are likely to largely be isolated for him to score one-on-one and help to quickly develop his craft.”
