Ranking the top 10 for Duke basketball target Charles Bediako: Duke

. . Blue Devils . 2. team. 434.

As noted at the beginning of this article, the projected 2021-22 Duke basketball roster currently appears in need of a capable big man. Enter Charles Bediako. Maybe. At the very least, per Rivals insider Eric Bossi, the Blue Devils are among the favorites in the battle:

“[One of the schools] that comes up most often for Bediako is Duke. In fact, there are many who believe that it is actually Mike Krzyzewski and the Blue Devils that hold a bit of an edge for him — if anybody even really leads.”

Bossi went on to explain how Coach K’s recent willingness to direct his offense to play through five-star big men down low could wind up paying dividends for the Blue Devils in attracting Bediako to #TheBrotherhood:

“For as much as many consider it to be a perimeter-oriented team, Duke has been willing to feature big guys in the past…you don’t have to look far to see the success Vernon CareyMarvin Bagley, and Wendell Carter have recently had in Durham.”

Of course, as alluded to here earlier and confirmed by Bossi below, if Bediako opts to hold off until the spring to decide on a college, Duke’s success in the race could depend on what happens to its lone true center this season:

“Is 2020 McDonald’s All-American Mark Williams a one-and-done? That could matter.”
