Duke basketball: Eight revealing remarks from coveted five-star recruit

Key quote from Duke basketball target Kennedy Chandler about Blue Devils
Kennedy Chandler on Duke
Playing for the NCAA’s all-time wins leader, who is also famous for producing elite point guards, at one’s dream school as a kid? Hmm…sounds enticing. And that is exactly what Kennedy Chandler expressed about Duke basketball head coach Mike Krzyzewski and his program when speaking to Pro Insight in May:
“Duke has always been a dream school for me. I love Duke and Coach K. The way the program is built and what he’s done for all of Duke University. I’ve seen players come out of Duke and do really great things. Kyrie Irving, Tyus Jones, Tre Jones, Quinn Cook. He’s had really good point guards come out there.”
Evidently, per Chandler’s more recent interview with Eric Bossi of Rivals, Krzyzewski has not at all given up on reeling him in. On the other hand, Duke basketball fans could see the “but” in the final sentence below as a concerning sign of what’s to come:
“Coach Krzyzewski, I have a good relationship with him. He called me a few days ago, and we had a good talk about what he’s been doing and what I’ve been doing since quarantine. That’s a dream school for me, but at the end of the day, I have to pick the school that’s going to be the best fit for my family and me.”
Finally, let’s see what Chandler had to say about the school that somehow suddenly swiped the “favorite” tag from Duke last week, at least in the eyes of insiders…
