Duke basketball: Marvin Bagley gets bad news following MRI on foot
Former Duke basketball star Marvin Bagley didn’t receive good news following his MRI on his right foot after an injury suffered in practice.
The bad news and expectation have officially become reality for Sacramento Kings forward Marvin Bagley after he underwent an MRI on Sunday night following a foot injury.
Bagley suffered the injury in a practice with the Kings inside the NBA’s bubble in Orlando, Florida as the team looks to make a push for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

As the league gets set to resume action at the end of July, the Kings are currently three and a half games behind the Memphis Grizzlies for the No. 8 seed, tied with the New Orleans Pelicans and Portland Trail Blazers.
Because of lingering injuries throughout the season, Bagley has been limited to just 13 games this season for the Kings after a broken thumb and an injury to his left foot hampered the growth of the second-year player.
Despite his significant lack of playing time, Bagley was averaging 14.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per game on 46.7 percent shooting from the floor.
Shams Charania of The Athletic first reported that Bagley would not play for the remainder of the season after the Kings later announced that the MRI showed that the 6-foot-11 forward suffered a lateral right foot sprain.

Sacramento is holding Bagley out of the NBA’s restart as a precaution, and he is expected to make a full recovery.
It has not been the banner week for former Blue Devils inside the NBA bubble as new Memphis Grizzly standout Justise Winslow will have to wait until next season to make his Grind City debut as he suffered a hip injury in practice on Monday.

Zion Williamson has also left the bubble but is expected to rejoin the Pelicans at some point as he tends to a family emergency.
Without Marvin Bagley in the fold, it could free up some more time for his fellow former Duke big man Harry Giles as the Kings open up their restart on July 31 against the San Antonio Spurs.
