Predicted the landing spot for Duke basketball target Kennedy Chandler

Five-star 2021 point guard Kennedy Chandler

High School: Sunrise Christian (Kan.)

Height and weight: 6-foot-1, 165 pounds

Composite ranking: No. 11 overall, No. 1 point guard, No. 1 in Kansas

Scouting report (from 247Sports director of basketball scouting Jerry Meyer): “Plays with surprising strength and exceptional explosive athleticism at 6-1. Regularly gets to the rim. Draws fouls at a high rate. Tremendous passer on the move. Adequate three-point shooter but plenty room for improvement. Creative finisher off the dribble. Rebounds position and is a disruptive defender.”

Finalists (five): Duke, Kentucky, Memphis, North Carolina, Tennessee

Insider chatter (from Corey Evans of Rivals): “The Blue Devils’ success in the backcourt in the 2020 class, bringing in Jeremy Roach and DJ Steward, could come back to haunt them as they both may remain in Durham past the upcoming season, leaving less room and fewer opportunities for Chandler…It’s fair to classify Chandler as a Tennessee lean, and there is a decent chance that he pushes for someone such as Paolo Banchero and/or Jabari Smith to join him.”

Decision timeline: Chandler, whose 247Sports Crystal Ball flipped from Duke to Tennessee last week, has suggested in the past that he will likely announce sometime before the start of his senior season.

Prediction: TENNESSEE
