Injuries have been the theme for the former No. 2 overall pick throughout his NBA career as he was able to play 62 games in his rookie season but has been limited to just 13 games in his second season.
Bagley III’s initial injury this season was a broken thumb, but then subsequent foot injuries sidelined him for the vast majority of the season prior to the league’s shutdown because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The injury Bagley suffered on Sunday was in his right foot as the injury that kept him out of action earlier in the season was a left foot sprain.
In those 13 games, the 6-foot-11 big man was averaging 14.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per game on 46.7 percent shooting from the field in 25.7 minutes per game.

Mavin Bagley III was staying active and in shape for the duration of the NBA’s shutdown as he looked to help lead the Sacramento Kings to an improbable run at the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference Playoffs.
As things currently stand, the Kings are tied with the New Orleans Pelicans and Portland Trail Blazers for the No. 9 seed and trail the Memphis Grizzlies by three and a half games for the coveted No. 8 seed.
