Duke basketball: Dream lineup for 2021-22 season

A future Duke basketball squad could include this entrancing starting five.

Unfortunately, it stands to reason there might not be a 2020-21 season. With that harsh reality in mind, it doesn’t seem too premature to ponder the possible next collection of Duke basketball players to actually chase a national title under Mike Krzyzewski and his staff.

So that’s essentially what we shall do here as we name an ideal lineup for the season after next that looks, without a doubt, both electrifying and realistic. Of course, whatever does happen in the way of college hoops this fall, winter, and spring is sure to play a sizeable role in shaping the 2021-22 Duke roster.

That said, a few underclassmen will likely depart for the pro ranks regardless; likewise, several should stick around in Durham for at least another year while welcoming at least a couple of heralded freshmen. As for this dream fivesome, it consists of potential stars whose chances of being active Blue Devils some 15 months from now each appear to be greater than or equal to 50 percent in the eyes of rational experts.
