Former Duke basketball star JJ Redick followed through on a promise he made to a fan on social media while in the bubble in Orlando.

As NBA players look to adjust to life in the NBA’s secluded bubble in Orlando, Florida, former Duke basketball star JJ Redick looks to be right at home after his latest posts on social media.

The New Orleans Pelicans shooting guard has clearly spent a lot of time on the golf course when he is not on the basketball court, and Redick is enjoying himself with some cold Bud Lights when he is on the links.

Redick tweeted out a photo of an unusable water fountain on the course in the same frame of his freshly opened beer.

A fan challenged Redick to ‘shotgun’ the Bud Light, and the 36-year old responded by saying the fan needed to get over 10,000 retweets in order for him to do it.

Admittedly a low number for a user with 50,000 followers on Twitter, but the fan did surpass the number, and Redick, from either a makeshift ice-bath or a very miniature pool, housed a can of Bud Light, much to the delight of Duke, Pelicans, and basketball fans on Twitter.

JJ Redick is in the midst of another very good season in the NBA as he is in his first season with the Pelicans, averaging 14.9 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game on 45.0 percent shooting from the field and 45.2 percent from 3-point range.

Redick recently expressed his goals for the remainder of his career, hoping to join a rare list of the best 3-point shooters in NBA history.
