Duke basketball: The six programs with perfect records against Blue Devils
By Matt Giles
Undefeated versus the Duke basketball program: Stephen F. Austin
1. Stephen F. Austin
Current conference: Southland Conference
All-time winning percentage: 58.2 (615-441)
NCAA Tournament record: 2-5
Record against Duke: 1-0
- Nov. 26, 2019, regular season, Cameron Indoor Stadium: Stephen F. Austin 85, Duke 83 (OT)
The home overtime loss to unranked Stephen F. Austin last November sure seemed devastating at the time for Duke basketball faithful. After all, the then-undefeated Blue Devils ranked No. 1 in the country while the program was still riding a record 150-game win streak against non-conference foes inside Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Furthermore, the manner in which the only meeting to date between the schools came to a close — a game-winning fastbreak layup as time expired in the extra session — made for must-see TV in the eyes of the gobs of Duke haters across college basketball.
In retrospect, though, the L wasn’t as monumental of an upset as it initially appeared to be. After all, the 2019-20 Lumberjacks ended up 28-3 overall (the Blue Devils finished 25-6) and first in their conference at 19-1, suggesting they might have been one of the most dangerous mid-major squads in the NCAA Tournament had current world conditions not nixed the Big Dance altogether.
So it’s definitely within reason that Duke could have another shot at Stephen F. Austin in the coming years by way of a tourney matchup. But as for whether Mike Krzyzewski will ever dare to schedule the Lumberjacks again, well, that remains to be seen.
