Duke basketball targets who could land in the G League: Kennedy Chandler

6-foot-1. 165 pounds. Pick Analysis. Kennedy Chandler. PG. player. 434. Scouting Report

Sunrise Christian (Kan.) point guard Kennedy Chandler displays levels of roadrunner speed and nifty handles attractive to NBA folks. So it’s no surprise the Memphis native has already heard from G League suitors.

While the 6-foot-1, 165-pound five-star only ranks No. 11 overall on the 247Sports 2021 Composite, he sat No. 30 at this time last year. Plus, Chandler now owns the title as the No. 1 floor general among his peers.

Here’s what Chandler said to Khari Thompson of the Commercial Appeal in April concerning his thoughts on the G League option:

“I really don’t know right now. So I’m going to keep on doing what I’m doing and talk to college coaches and see where I want to go for college.”

However, Chandler’s dad, Kylan, seemed to give the G League a little more hope:

“It depends, but Kennedy wants to go [to college]. We talked about it when they called me. That’s what he’s saying now. But who is to say what happens in a couple of years?”

Chandler currently has five finalists: Duke, North Carolina, Kentucky, Memphis, and Tennessee. He has recently indicated that he’d like to pick a school at some point this fall. The 247Sports Crystal Ball favors the Blue Devils.
