The Duke football program landed a three-star offensive lineman in the Class of 2021.

Days after Duke football’s lone offensive lineman commit in the Class of 2021 shot up the Top247 Sports rankings, David Cutcliffe landed another lineman to protect possible second-year quarterback Chase Brice.

Adamsville, Alabama native Almarion Crim, also known as “Big Crim”, committed to Duke on Saturday, joining Andrew Jones as the second offensive lineman in Duke’s 2021 recruiting class.

Cutcliffe now has 12 players locked down in next year’s incoming class, split evenly between offensive and defensive players.

Duke made the Top-10 for Crim about three weeks ago, and the 6-foot-3, 285-pound force didn’t need any more time as it was already set he would become a Blue Devil.

Louisville, South Alabama, Middle Tennessee, Southern Mississippi, Virginia Tech, Florida Atlantic, Tulsa, Southern Florida, and Georgia Tech were all in the Minor High School standout’s Top-10.

Upon announcing his Top-10, Crim made it known that his recruitment was still open and he would still be accepting scholarships from new programs, and while schools will still offer the offensive lineman despite his commitment to Duke, it would be unlikely to see him waver from his pledge.

Big Crim is ranked as the No. 1,612 recruit in the junior class, according to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, as well as the No. 137 offensive tackle and No. 62 player in the state of Alabama.

Many experts believed that Duke, Virginia Tech, and Louisville were the three frontrunners for Crim, but the Blue Devils made that big of an impression on the prospect after offering a scholarship on May 4.

Duke’s 12-man recruiting class in 2021 is now ranked as the No. 42 class in the country and No. 12 in the ACC, according to the 247 Sports rankings, but do not expect David Cutcliffe and his staff to slow down any time soon as the Blue Devils are still hitting the recruiting trail hard (virtually) amid the coronavirus pandemic.
