Duke basketball stars who could’ve starred in football: WR Cassius Stanley

Cassius Stanley has impressive hops from a standstill. The heights he reached when taking off in full stride during his lone year at Duke last season, though, are something out of a comic book. However, his mesmerizing leaps and bounds seem a bit more realistic when taking into account that his at-home trainer as a youngster was a former all-conference heptathlete and long jumper at UCLA, Tonya Sedwick, who just so happens to be his mom.

He’s competitive. He draws attention. He’s among the upper echelon in the speed department. And as evident in the above clips, the Los Angeles native enjoys a magnet-like mitt to catch alley-oop tosses when fully extended with his feet a mile off the ground. Don’t know about you, but I see in Stanley another thrilling prospect at wide receiver.
