Duke basketball stars who could’ve starred in football: QB Zion Williamson

A freak of nature. Inexplicably large, solid, and mobile. Zion Williamson is unlike anything the basketball world has ever seen. The same would apply to the football world had that been his sport of choice. While many peg him as a tight end, that seems silly. There’d be little sense in doing anything other than starting every snap with the ball in the sure hands of the 6-foot-6, 285-pound natural leader who just so happens to have a natural cannon for an arm.

Honestly, though, how often would the former one-and-done Duke sensation (2018-19) really need to pass to anyone on a field of play?

Balance. Speed. Strength. Poise. A Hollywood smile. An unstoppable rusher. A potentially phenomenal passer. Just a touchdown machine. No doubt about it — except the danger of injuries, of course — the hypothetical football player Zion Williamson would be a clear choice as a signal-caller and seems like the only logical choice for No. 1 on this ranking.
