Top 10 impact players for the 2020 Duke football team: OT Jacob Monk
Jacob Monk will certainly have an impact in terms of protecting the quarterback this season. It doesn’t matter who you have under center if they don’t have protection.
The sophomore offensive tackle is coming off a solid debut season in Durham. I believe Monk will be the X-factor in locking down the trenches this year.
Without good blocking, it’s virtually impossible to utilize the talent you have at skill positions. After being entrusted to protect Quentin Harris in 2019’s opener against Alabama, becoming the first true freshman to draw a start in a season-opener on the offensive line under David Cutcliffe and then seeing starts in the other 11 games as well, Jacob Monk will just continue to improve as his career progresses.
