Top 10 impact players for the 2020 Duke football team: RB Mataeo Durant
While Brittain Brown’s injury-plagued season was certainly nothing to cheer about, it did give Duke fans one silver lining. This silver lining, of course, was Mataeo Durant, who burst onto the scene in 2019.
The junior running back from South Carolina is poised to take over the role of RB2 this season, as his predecessor, Brown, transferred to UCLA. Durant may have significantly less experience than Brown, but he has the talent and determination to perform under pressure.
He may have only scored once in 2019, but Durant rushed for 461 yards as a tertiary option at running back for most of the season. The pressure will definitely be greater, but he is built to handle this. This is his time to shine, and you better believe that Mataeo Durant will be turning heads this year on the gridiron.
