Top 10 impact players for the 2020 Duke football team: DE Derrick Tangelo
Duke’s defensive line was one of the true bright spots in Durham last year. However, this unit lost some stars to graduation. Among these were veterans Tre Hornbuckle and Trevon McSwain.
Senior Derrick Tangelo will be a key component when it comes to applying pressure on opponents. While the Maryland native’s number of tackles saw a decline in 2019 (23 total, down from 46 in 2018), his production will be crucial to hinder both the opposing pass and run games.
We’ve seen what Tangelo is capable of, and I expect nothing less of him this year. There will be more pressure on him, but this will enable him to thrive. Look for No. 54 to wreak havoc up front all season long.
