. . Cavaliers . 8. team. 446.

Ranking haters of Duke basketball greatness: No. 8 Virginia

If it wasn’t for the natty in 2019 and the fact that Virginia is now the only program in history to be defending champs in two seasons by winning only one NCAA Tournament, well, then the Cavaliers would possibly be among the top five on this ranking.

On the other hand, while cutting down April nets has undoubtedly alleviated the bruising from losing 36 of 43 meetings against Duke since 1996, there’s been a noticeable uptick to the number of Virginia fans who regularly seek to attack innocent Dukies on social media.

In part due to Mike Krzyzewski’s recruiting dominance, Tony Bennett can’t seem to reach top-shelf recruits. Though they won’t admit it, Hoos supporters come across as a tad salty about having to settle for the boring play of guys like Jack Salt rather than experience the nightly thrills that come with a Zion Williamson; remember, Williamson and the 2018-19 Blue Devils swept the wannabe ACC kings (also: five national titles provide five times the joy of only one).
