Prior to Michigan State ending the run of Zion Williamson and friends in the 2019 East Regional Final, Mike Krzyzewski had beaten Tom Izzo in 13 of their 14 meetings, including twice at the Final Four (1999 and 2015).
In addition to the dominance on the hardwood, the coaches in Durham have crushed the hopes of their counterparts in East Lansing countless times along the recruiting trail. One recent example is Vernon Carey Jr., a five-star big man many saw as a future Spartan but instead wound up as the 2019-20 National Freshman of the Year as a Blue Devil and, along the way, spanked his former suitors on their home floor:
