Ranking haters of Duke basketball greatness: No. 14 Wake Forest

I’ve lived most of my 38 years on this planet in the heart of North Carolina and can count on one hand the number of Wake Forest fans I have ever encountered. If there were significantly more outspoken supporters of the ACC’s small private school 80 miles west of Duke, then I would assume they would have given me a reason to reward them with a higher ranking here.

As it is, though, the Demon Deacons have remained relatively quiet as the Blue Devils have owned the all-time series, 173-78, including 19 wins across the past 21 meetings. As a Dukie who relishes the enmity from all opposition, I’m crossing my fingers that recently hired Wake head coach Steve Forbes soon reignites the fading rivalry by throwing some sort of shade Duke’s way.
