Ranking haters of Duke basketball greatness: No. 15 Wisconsin

Duke teams have combined to square off against Wisconsin only four times in history. Before 2007, that count was zero. And before the 2014-15 season, the Badgers sat 1-1 against the Blue Devils and held little reason to have beef with the dudes in Durham.

However, as soon as Mike Krzyzewski and his winning gang knocked off Frank Kaminsky, Sam Dekker, and the rest to win the 2015 National Championship — four months after beating them in Madison — that’s when the sparks started to fly. Bo Ryan, then the Wisconsin head coach, immediately mouthed off about poor officiating and “rent-a-player” programs:

Duke had mostly turned the other cheek, though, until agreeing to what is likely to be a one-year lease with five-star 2020 small forward Jalen Johnson, who had Wisconsin as a finalist and is one of the top preps to ever come out of America’s Dairyland. Now, the Blue Devils are the favorites to snag Milwaukee resident Patrick Baldwin Jr., a 6-foot-10 silky phenom who ranks No. 3 overall on the 247Sports 2021 Composite.
