Duke basketball: 15 programs who hate Coach K’s success

Ranking haters of Duke basketball greatness: No. 6 Arizona
Entering the 2001 National Championship Game, Arizona was clearly the crowd favorite. As ESPN pointed out time and again in the days leading up to the meeting with Duke, the Wildcats had a chance to help distract their head coach at the time, Lute Olson, from the heartache of losing his wife of 47 years, Bobbi, to ovarian cancer three months prior on New Year’s Day.
However, it was the Blue Devils who, due in large part to a barrage of second-half 3-pointers from Mike Dunleavy, took home the precious hardware. There’s no doubt Arizona fans still hold a grudge against Mike Krzyzewski’s Duke program as a result of that.
And although Arizona holds a 5-4 lead in the all-time series, the program’s enthusiasts on Twitter make clear that they resent Coach K for landing so many five-star recruits without so much as a slap on the wrist; meanwhile, the recruiting team in Tucson has developed a penchant for landing in hot water with both the NCAA and FBI.
