Kennedy Chandler talks Kentucky
During his in-depth chat with Pro Insight, Kennedy Chandler explained what he likes about Kentucky — where he took an unofficial visit in February — and included his specific thoughts on head coach John Calipari:
“Kentucky always brings ‘Cats into the league. That’s what they do. I know Coach Calipari will hold me accountable. He told me that there’s no guarantee for a starting spot and that you have to fight for your position in practice. That’s what I like about him. I’d have to fight for my position, go hard every day in practice, and get better every day.”
As the point guard also noted, it doesn’t hurt that he remembers Calipari, who has reeled in eight of the past 13 No. 1 classes on the 247Sports Team Rankings, from way back in the day (well, way back in the day for a present-day 17-year-old, anyway):
“I used to go to Memphis camps when John Calipari was the coach.”
